BIP: Inclusive approaches in education 

In the European context
Blended Intensive Programme – The Czech Republic
The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) titled "Inclusive approaches in education: in the European context" is focused on trends and practical aspects of inclusive education within the European countries. The programme is organized by the Faculty of Education at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (UJEP), Czechia, in collaboration with partner universities from Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland and Germany.

Objectives and Target Groups
The primary objective of the project is to provide participants with a comparative perspective on inclusive education strategies, specifically focusing on the first stage of primary school. The programme addresses the need for sharing best practices in working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The target group includes student teachers for primary education, special education students, related fields and academic staff from the participating partner institutions.
Partner institution should send max 4 participants. It may be e.g. 4 students, or 3 students + 1 teacher.

The two phases

• Virtual Component (6th May 2026): This phase serves to introduce the participants and the involved institutions and provides a theoretical introduction to the subject matter. It also includes essential organizational and logistical instructions for the upcoming mobility.
• Physical Mobility (12.-16.10. 2026): A five-day intensive programme hosted in the Czech Republic, featuring expert lectures, workshops, and site visits to mainstream primary schools with inclusive classrooms.

Participant may expect
Collaborative role-playing involving teachers, teaching assistants, and special educators.
Hands-on work with specialized aids and the creation of adapted didactic materials.
International teamwork centred on solving real-world case studies.
Final outputs delivered through multimedia formats, such as posters or short videos.

Take-away
Knowledge of special education practices and inclusive strategies in different countries.
Reusable methodological sheets and comprehensive case studies.
Enhancement of intercultural competencies and professional English communication.
A sustainable network of international contacts
Improved cultural understanding through field trips to Prague and the North Bohemia region.

The new Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility project (KA171) between Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (UJEP) and the Albanian "Fan S. Noli" University in Korçë (UNKORCE) focuses on sharing experiences in the fields of inclusion, diversity, and sustainable regional development.

Main Pillars of Cooperation

The project connects the Department of Special and Social Pedagogy of the Faculty of Education, UJEP, with the Faculty of Education and Philology in Albania. The common denominator is the theme of "Inclusion and Diversity" – one of the greatest challenges of contemporary education in both countries.

• Know-how exchange: Sharing methodological materials for inclusive education and support for pupils with special educational needs.

• Connection with practice: Using case studies and project-based learning to strengthen the competencies of future teachers and social workers.

• Regional impact: Findings from the project will be utilized in creating strategies for the Ústí nad Labem Region (e.g., the School Inclusive Concept).

Planned Mobilities

A total of 19 mobilities will take place within the project, enabling mutual study and working stays for students and staff.

What Will the Project Bring?

• For students: Improvement of language skills, intercultural experience, and higher employability in the labor market.

• For academics: Inspiration for innovations in teaching, joint research, and international publications.

• For institutions: Strengthening the role of UJEP as an internationally open university and developing a partnership with the city of Korçë, which is a partner city of Ústí nad Labem.
