BIP: Inclusive approaches in education 

In the European context
Blended Intensive Programme – The Czech Republic
The Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) titled "Inclusive approaches in education: in the European context" is focused on trends and practical aspects of inclusive education within the European countries. The programme is organized by the Faculty of Education at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (UJEP), Czechia, in collaboration with partner universities from Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland and Germany.

Objectives and Target Groups
The primary objective of the project is to provide participants with a comparative perspective on inclusive education strategies, specifically focusing on the first stage of primary school. The programme addresses the need for sharing best practices in working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The target group includes student teachers for primary education, special education students, related fields and academic staff from the participating partner institutions.
Partner institution should send max 4 participants. It may be e.g. 4 students, or 3 students + 1 teacher.

The two phases

  • Virtual Component (6th May 2026): This phase serves to introduce the participants and the involved institutions and provides a theoretical introduction to the subject matter. It also includes essential organizational and logistical instructions for the upcoming mobility.
  • Physical Mobility (12.-16.10. 2026): A five-day intensive programme hosted in the Czech Republic, featuring expert lectures, workshops, and site visits to mainstream primary schools with inclusive classrooms.

Participant may expect
Collaborative role-playing involving teachers, teaching assistants, and special educators.
Hands-on work with specialized aids and the creation of adapted didactic materials.
International teamwork centred on solving real-world case studies.
Final outputs delivered through multimedia formats, such as posters or short videos.

Take-away
Knowledge of special education practices and inclusive strategies in different countries.
Reusable methodological sheets and comprehensive case studies.
Enhancement of intercultural competencies and professional English communication.
A sustainable network of international contacts
Improved cultural understanding through field trips to Prague and the North Bohemia region.
