Šteklová Kateřina
Kateřina Šteklová is primarily focused on linguistic disciplines. She has taught English Phonology and Phonetics, Intorduction to Linguistics, Text Analysis and English Morphology. Dr. Šteklová has been teaching at the Faculty of Education UJEP in Ústí nad Labem since 1997 and currently serves as the head of the Department of English. She holds an MA in English Philology and Anglo-American Literature, an MA in Czech Philology and Translation Studies, both from the Philosophical Faculty at Palacký University in Olomouc, as well as a PhD from the Pedagogical Faculty in Olomouc. Her doctoral research focused on pronunciation teaching and speech transfer in non-native English production.
Her academic work is closely tied to her research interests, which include speech analysis, non-native English production, and their impact on language education. Her commitment to bridging research with practical teaching informs her approach to educating future English language teachers.
Since 2019, Dr. Šteklová has also been teaching several courses at Gymnázium Teplice. This role helps her maintain a strong connection to the broader educational community and continually refine her pedagogical skills, ensuring close alignment between academic research and the realities of teaching practice.
