Natalia Orlova, an Associate Professor, has been teaching at UJEP since 2001. She held the position of head of the Department of English from 2009 to 2024. Her research and publications focus on enhancing the professional competence of pre-service EFL teachers through reflective practice and addressing cross-cultural issues in the language classroom. She has authored several textbooks for school and university students.

As an expert at the European Centre of Modern Languages (ECML), Dr. Orlova actively participated in the EPOSTL training and consultancy program. Additionally, she was an expert team member in the ECML D-1 tender project and a co-author of PEPELINO, the European Portfolio for Pre-Primary Educators: The plurilingual and intercultural dimension. Furthermore, she has taught at universities in France, Lithuania, and Spain as part of the Erasmus Teaching Mobility Program and. She spent an academic year at the University of Grand Forks, ND, USA as a Fulbright scholar.
